This September 2023, Nurture Yoga Studio will be hosting two yoga classes that are specifically tailored towards children and teens with special needs.

BabyCakes Boutique is a local Dimondale, MI business and has generously sponsored both of these classes, creating accessibility to the public. Her sponsorship means that these two classes will be completely free and allows any family that has a child with special needs the ability to attend.

BL: What is your business? How long have you been in business?

TB: My business is currently a small online boutique that offers an assortment of sewn baby items, toys (sensory included), and custom themed diaper cakes. During the pandemic I had a lot of time to think and brainstorm. I came up with the idea to start my own business during this time. I started doing research on what it takes and how to go about starting my own business. A little over a year ago, in March of 2022, I created Babycakes Boutique.

BL: What are some of your favorite things about your business?

TB: The name of my business. Babycakes has a dual meaning. When my son was a newborn this was his nickname or what I called him. This is also what I call the custom themed diaper cakes I create (Babycakes).

BL: You have chosen to sponsor an event to make yoga accessible to children with special needs, tell us about why you decided to do this. What is your passion behind this type of support?

TB: I simply love giving back. I was born and raised in south Lansing. We recently moved to Dimondale four years ago. Everyone has been so welcoming. I love how generous the community is. I’m always looking for and exploring projects that builds on my skillset. I have items that range from providing comfort, addressing sensory needs, and assisting a new mother from day one.
